Do You Believe In Torture?

The America I Believe In Does Not Torture

The America I believe in does not torture. Most Americans do not believe in the systematic, institutionalized tortore of non-combatant prisoners.

Above is a photo taken by Jerry Jaspar, SVPC, of a torture exhibit put together by Merrily Davies, Brian Blac, and Uncle Bill.

It was part of an exhibit in conjucntion with Social Justice Awareness Day held at College of the Sequoias, Visalia, CA on March 14, 2008.

America is a great country. We are proud to be Americans. We are patriotic. And we seek to hold the current administration accountable to the laws of our country.

We have been lied to by our elected officials who continue to bury their heads in the sand.

  • Iraq did not fly airplanes into the World Trade Center or the Pentagon.
  • No "Weapons of Mass Destruction" have been found.
  • There is no connection between Iraq and the Taliban of Afghanistan.
  • All the justifications for starting an illegal war have been resoundingly disproved.

This is not a holy war, it is not a just war. It is a war about oil, fueled by greed.

  • PEACE NOW!
  • End the Iraqi Occupation NOW!
  • Bring our kids home NOW!

Take ACTION! Here is what you can do to help!

The Cost of "The War on Terror"

"The point of terrorism is to cause terror. The people terrorists kill are not the targets; they are collateral damage.

And blowing up planes, trains, markets or buses is not the goal; those are just tactics.

The real targets of terrorism are the rest of us: the billions of us who are not killed but are terrorized because of the killing.

The real point of terrorism is not the act itself, but our reaction to the act. And we're doing exactly what the terrorists want."

- Bruce Schneier, author and security expert, from a recent blog entry.
